Ms X, a slim lady in her 30s, is a self-proclaimed perfectionist and sought to achieve her aesthetic goal of slim and sculpted calves.
Background
Ms X shared, "It's not about vanity; it's about achieving my ideal self. Slim calves are part of that." She had undergone multiple calf liposuctions carried out overseas in the last few years and had irregularities from the surgeries. She consulted Dr Puah for a second opinion and hoped to improve her condition.
Consultation & Assessment
During the consultation with Dr Puah, Ms X shared that she is a non-smoker, works out regularly, eats a well-balanced diet, and has no underlying medical conditions or drug allergies. She openly discussed her goals and apprehensions.
Dr Puah offered a pragmatic perspective," It's important to manage expectations, based on current clinical conditions, revision surgery may or may not significantly alter the outcome."
Ms X acknowledged the realistic outcomes of a revision procedure and appreciated Dr Puah's transparent and candid opinion. She deliberated over the pros and cons of lipo corrective surgery for her unique situation and decided to proceed with the surgery. Ms X was informed of the side effects, risks, downtime and potential complications.
Treatment Plan
In 2023, Ms X underwent lipo corrective surgery on both her calves. The surgery proceeded uneventfully with Dr Puah's proprietary liposuction technique to remove fat tissues on the calves and sculpt her ankles.
Post-Op Recovery & Results
Ms X recovered well, although she complained of soreness akin to overworking the calves during exercise. The swelling and bruises subsided gradually, and she wore her compression garment for more than two months post-op. Comparing her before and after photos on her last visit with Dr Puah, she saw improvement in her results.
