Face Treatment

EyeArt® Method (Tear Trough Fillers)

CAUSES OF TIRED-LOOKING EYES AND DARK EYE CIRCLES

The tear trough lies between your lower eyelid and upper cheek. Early signs of ageing point toward the hollowing of the tear trough.

As one ages, the tear trough area appears hollower, deeper, and darker, causing unattractive dark shadowing and eye bags to appear, making one look exhausted and aged.

👵🏼 Ageing Volume Loss

As we age, decreased volume under the eyes can create a noticeable "tear trough," casting shadows.

👱 Skin Laxity

Reduced collagen production makes blood vessels and dark shadows more visible under the eyes.

💤 Sleep Deprivation

Lack of sleep can pale the skin, highlighting blood vessels beneath the eyes.

This is the most common.

🚬 Smoking

Constricts blood vessels, leading to poor circulation and darker under-eye areas.

☕️ Caffeine & Alcohol

Excess can dehydrate and swell blood vessels, worsening dark circles.

👃🏼 Others

Nasal congestion, allergies, sun exposure, and eye rubbing can also lead to discolouration.

⚖️ Weight Loss

Significant weight loss may enhance the appearance of under-eye hollowness.

🧬 Genetics

Some people may naturally develop tear troughs, regardless of age.

DIFFERENT TYPE OF UNDER-EYE CONCERNS

Dark Circles

Dark Circles

Discoloured skin under the eyes, which can appear in shades of blue, purple, brown, or black.

Eye Bags

Eye Bags

Puffiness or swelling under the eyes, resulting in a bag-like appearance.

Puffy Eyes

Puffy Eyes

Swelling or puffiness around the eyes, which typically diminishes over time or with treatment.

Hollow or Sunken Eyes

Hollow or Sunken Eyes

Noticeable indentations under the eyes, causing the eyes to appear deeper set into the face.

Under eye Wrinkles

Under eye wrinkles

Fine lines or creases beneath the eyes, which often become more pronounced with age and due to facial expressions.

GRADING FOR TEAR TROUGH HOLLOWING

Class I

Class I: Limited to tear trough

  • Tear trough with no orbital fat or extra lower eyelid skin
  • Mild volume loss around the eyes
  • A flat mid-face
Class II

Class II: Extended Laterally

  • Mild to moderate orbital fat without extra skin on the lower eyelid
  • Some volume loss around the eyes
  • A slightly flattened mid-face
Class III

Class III: Full

  • Significant volume loss around the eyes
  • Severe bulging of orbital fat
  • Extra lower eyelid skin
  • A deep tear trough extending around the eye

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT MY TIRED-LOOKING EYES AND DARK EYE CIRCLES?

An effective treatment at Amaris B. Clinic is Dr Ivan Puah's proprietary approach, the EyeArt® Method. This eye rejuvenation solution involves injecting hyaluronic acid-based (HA) dermal fillers at strategic points and depths into specific areas around the eyes.

It helps to:

  • Fill in volume loss
  • Refresh tired-looking eyes
  • Reduce dark eye circles
  • Revolumise under the eyes
  • Improve skin quality
  • Help you look less tired, more rejuvenated and youthful

WHAT TYPE OF DERMAL FILLERS DO YOU USE?

In your body, hyaluronic acid fills the spaces between cells, protecting them by retaining water and serving as a sponge.

Only hyaluronic-based (HA) dermal fillers are used in the EyeArt® Method by Dr Ivan Puah. Once injected, it acts as a cushion, supporting facial structures and tissues that may have lost volume and elasticity. The product instantly fills the skin.

DR IVAN PUAH'S EYEART® METHOD

Eye bags

Micro-droplet

Using very fine blunt cannulas instead of needles and his micro-droplet technique to reduce the risks of bruising and swelling.

Multi-layering

For an even and natural rejuvenation around the eye area.

Multi-dimensional

Through a multi-dimensional approach – lift the skin around the eyes, improve fine lines, and lighten dark eye circles.

What should I expect before the tear trough fillers treatment?

A detailed consultation will take place with Dr Ivan Puah to assess your clinical condition and to ensure that your expectations are understood. He will explain how to administer your treatment and address your concerns.

During the tear trough fillers injection, he will inject selected hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers[16] into the tear trough area with his EyeArt® Method.

Through his careful and strategic placement of the injection, he can lift and support the skin around the tear trough, fill up and smooth out hollowness.

When can I see the results?

Results and improvements will be noticeable immediately, but allow 7 to 14 days for any minor side effects, such as bruising or swelling (if any), to dissipate.

I heard there are many HA dermal fillers brands available. Which one do you use?

There are many HA dermal fillers that medical practitioners offer in Singapore, such as:

  • Belotero [2, 3 ,4, 5]
  • Juvederm [6, 7, 8, 9, 10]
  • Restylane [4, 11, 12, 13]
  • Voluma [14, 15, 16]

Each of these has its own characteristics and indicated purposes.

For example, Belotero and Restylane Silk correct shallow and fine facial lines, while Voluma is recommended for cheek enhancement.

As ethical healthcare professionals, it is important that medical practitioners only provide FDA and HSA-approved HA dermal fillers to their patients.

We believe that only quality products that have undergone stringent assessment, with proven track records and multiple clinical studies, will benefit the patients.
