ADR-C Facial Enhancement, also known as fat transfer to the face, autologous fat transfer, micro-fat grafting or facial fat grafting, is a minimally invasive facial enhancement and rejuvenation procedure where the doctor extracts a minuscule amount of fat from another area of the patient's body, cleansed and processed it before reinjecting into the patient's face, on areas where needed. This treatment adds volume to ageing areas of the face and effectively rejuvenates the overlying skin.
• Facial Ageing: Fine lines, eyebags and frown lines
• Sunken Cheeks: Restores sunken cheeks caused by resorption of fat and bony deposits
• Facial Hollowness: Temples and forehead
• Eyebrows: Lift the brows and upper eyelids for a more youthful look
• Correcting pointed chin
Fat grafting results may be enhanced by adding complementary procedures such as Pico Fractional Laser, Ultherapy®, or Anti-wrinkle Injection (BoNTA) for better skin health and a younger and rejuvenated appearance.
It is worth considering this procedure if you already have liposuction, so rather than disposing of the extracted fat, the fat can be repurposed to the face for facial enhancement if you like.
ADR-C Facial Enhancement also enhances facial features, the shape and contours of the jawlines, cheeks, and around the eyes, and their texture. It can also treat deep pitted acne scars to fill in uneven textures and create a smoother appearance.
ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) can also improve facial scarring due to injuries, accidents, or birth defects.
Due to the nature of fat (the patient's own fat source), fat grafting or transfer to the face is more organic than dermal fillers and is more lasting and natural-looking.
Fat can be taken from the abdomen, inner or outer thigh.
We listen to your needs and ensure that your final result looks natural. As such, most patients are satisfied after the first procedure. After about 8 to 12 months from the initial procedure, some may feel that they would like to further enhance the results with additional fat grafting sessions, which would entail a separate fee.
Most of the patients will appreciate the changes almost immediately following fat grafting. Final results are seen a few weeks after with ongoing improvements. The full healing process will complete over 3 to 6 months. Our doctor will advise you further during the consultation.
Recovery is relatively fast and easy, with minimal discomfort. Patients may experience minor discomfort after the procedure, but this usually resolves quickly. Bruising, swelling, and redness will improve within 1 week.
The surgery is carried out under local anaesthesia, typically taking 1 to 1.5 hours.
• Biocompatible, non-allergic, non-toxic
• Easy to harvest via liposuction
• No risks of rejection
• Long-lasting results
• Rejuvenative properties due to the high concentration of mesenchymal cells present
No. Fat storage service is not available in Singapore.
No. Areas such as the lips and laugh lines, which see frequent motion, generally require more than one session for efficacy. However, other areas of the face and body do reasonably better, and results can be achieved after just one session.
You are suitable for this procedure if you are:
• In good psychological and physical health
• Realistic about the results (of what can be or cannot be achieved)
• Looking for longer-lasting results than that of dermal fillers.
• Looking to rejuvenate your appearance, smooth out fine lines, and improve the contours of your face.
Fat grafting should be performed by qualified doctors with appropriate training in the procedure. It is a requirement for doctors who want to offer fat grafting procedures in Singapore to be liposuction accredited by the Ministry Of Health Singapore.
If you are considering a fat grafting procedure, your choice of doctor will definitely affect your surgery's success. The technical and surgical approach undertaken by the doctor will determine your end results.
Dr. Ivan Puah has over 17 years of liposuction experience and is the Lipo Peer Review Committee Chairman. ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) is a long-term solution that will last for a couple of years, with a 50% to 70% of fat retention rate.
Factors that will impact your results include:
The skill of the doctor
How the fat is harvested, purified, how and where it is injected. The more skilful and experienced your doctor is, the better his or her understanding of the technique.
How well your body adapts
Fat survives the best when it is put into areas with abundant blood supply. In general, the face is well vascularised; hence results can and often are long-lasting.
Lifestyle factors
Smoking and drinking alcohol will impact your fat grafting results.
A local anaesthetic will be administered to the treated areas during treatment to minimise pain and discomfort. Post-treatment, the patient may experience some soreness, bruising and fullness of the face. Most patients can manage post-op pain and discomfort well with the medications prescribed.
ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) is a minimally invasive procedure. You may require a couple of rest days to allow the post-surgery swelling to settle. There is minimal disruption to your daily life besides no strenuous workouts and water activities for 2 weeks. You must follow the aftercare instructions provided. Failure to comply may impact the results and delay your healing process.
