Body Contouring Guide for Different Body Types
Body contouring solutions tailored for different body types — from apple to pear shapes — helping you target stubborn areas and achieve a more balanced contour.
As early as our late 20s, tissue volume in the skin begins to deplete. Typically, we lose up to 35% of mid-face volume due to stress, trauma or yo-yo dieting. This loss leads to skin sagging and the formation of jowls, hollows, creases and wrinkles.
But all is not lost as ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting)[1, 2, 3, 4, 5] can restore youthfulness back into the skin such as filling up the fat loss on the face, smooth out facial lines and improve skin texture.
Irons fine lines, deep wrinkles, frown lines and facial creases
Restores sunken cheeks caused by resorption of fat and bony deposits
Revolumise the temples and forehead, including sunken, hollowed eyes
Lift the brows and upper eyelids for a more youthful look
Softens the look of a fierce appearance from a pointed chin
Reduces the deep line between the nose and the lips for anti-ageing
Corrects the lines between the lips and chin for a more youthful look
Subtle lifting of saggy jowls due to loss of elasticity
Biocompatible, non-allergic, non-toxic
Easy to harvest via liposuction
No risks of rejection
Long-lasting results
Rejuvenative properties due to the high concentration of mesenchymal cells present
You are suitable for this procedure if you are:
Realistic about the results (of what can be or cannot be achieved)
Looking for longer-lasting results than dermal fillers
Looking to rejuvenate your appearance, smooth out fine lines, and improve the contours of your face

At Amaris B. Clinic, we don’t just perform liposuction — we refine it. Our proprietary MDC-Sculpt® Lipo technique, developed by Dr Ivan Puah, when paired with ADR-C technique becomes an effective instrument for both body contouring and enhancement.
Unlike conventional liposuction, MDC-Sculpt® Lipo is tailored to individual anatomy and aesthetic goals. Using specialised cannulas and a multi-plane extraction approach, we remove fat selectively to preserve natural contours and muscular definition.
Key technical advantages:
Once fat is removed via MDC-Sculpt® Lipo, it can be repurposed to enhance volume and correct contour deficits in areas like the face, breasts, buttocks and hands.
Here’s how our refined protocol ensures safety and optimal outcomes.
Every phase of your procedure — from pre-op mapping to post-op care — is guided by stringent clinical protocols.
Dr Ivan Puah and our surgical team monitor:
Before grafting, we assess fat quality — checking cell viability and volume consistency under sterile conditions.
This quality control measure ensures only the healthiest fat is used for grafting.
During the grafting process, Dr Ivan Puah carefully regulates injection pressure to prevent tissue damage, promote uniform absorption and optimise fat retention rates.
To address contour enhancement and skin rejuvenation, fat is placed strategically at multiple levels — from deep tissue for structure to superficial layers for smoothing.
This layered approach ensures both structural support and surface refinement.

We begin with low-pressure, manual aspiration—using fine cannulas to softly collect fat cells without rupturing them.
This conserves cell integrity and dramatically improves fat survival after grafting, ensuring more reliable and durable results.
We use a closed-loop, sterile filtration system to remove excess oil, blood, and liquid contaminants, leaving behind pure, clean fat ready for injection.
Instead of large-volume bolus injections, we meticulously deposit fat micro-droplet by micro-droplet in several layers.
This maximises contact with surrounding tissue and enhances re-vascularisation — helping the grafted fat thrive long‑term while maintaining natural texture.
Using a radial fan pattern, we weave fat through multiple tissue planes.
This ensures even distribution, prevents lumps or dents, and builds natural contour.
Fat grafting can help soften and smooth out depressed scars caused by surgery, burns, or radiation[6].
By restoring volume beneath the skin, it improves skin texture and blends visible indentations for a more even surface[9].
Uneven facial features can be balanced with strategic fat grafting. Volume is added to specific areas to create natural facial harmony and symmetry[7].
Fat grafting works well with other treatments to boost results.
It can be combined with laser resurfacing, fillers, or anti-wrinkl injection to enhance overall facial rejuvenation[8].
The hands are one of the first areas to show signs of ageing.
Over time, collagen loss, dehydration, and sun exposure lead to volume depletion, making veins and tendons more visible and cause wrinkles.
Fat grafting restores lost volume, softens visible veins, and improves skin texture for naturally younger-looking hands[8].
ADR-C Facial Enhancement with fat grafting is an elective surgery, therefore it is not covered under insurance or Medisave.
What affects the cost?
Your total surgical fees vary based on several factors such as:
We provide before-and-after photos privately during your one-on-one consultation with Dr Ivan Puah. You will be able to view anonymised images of actual patients who had undergone facial liposuction.
It allows you to:
Disclaimer: While these clinical visuals are shared in-clinic for your education, MOH strictly prohibits displaying before/after images in ANY public advertising (website, social media, brochures etc.). We fully comply to ensure ethical patient communication, no unrealistic outcome promises and protection of patient privacy. Visual examples are for educational reference only - individual results vary based on your unique condition.
If you are considering a fat grafting procedure, your choice of doctor will definitely affect your surgery's success. The technical and surgical approach undertaken by the doctor will determine your results.
Fat grafting should be performed by qualified doctors with appropriate training in the procedure. It is a requirement for doctors who want to offer fat grafting procedures in Singapore to be liposuction accredited by the Ministry Of Health Singapore.
Dr Ivan Puah has over 20 years of liposuction experience and is the Lipo Peer Review Committee Chairman. He was one of the first few doctors in Singapore to offer fat grafting to the body and face back in 2008.
Dr Puah has received surgical training and guidance in syringe liposculpture, fat grafting and thread lift by French plastic surgeon, Dr Pierre François Fournier.

Do you freeze the extracted fat, store it and re-use it later?
No. Fat storage service is not available in Singapore.
Apart from the face, can fat be used in other body parts?
Yes. Fat can be grafted to the hands for hand rejuvenation, breasts for breast enhancement, and buttocks for buttock enhancement.
What if I want more fat-filling later?
We listen to your needs and ensure that your final result looks natural. As such, most patients are satisfied after the first procedure. After about 8 to 12 months from the initial procedure, some may feel that they would like to further enhance the results with additional fat grafting sessions, which would entail a separate fee.
Will ADR-C Facial Enhancement be painful?
A local anaesthetic will be administered to the treated areas during treatment to minimise pain and discomfort. Post-treatment, the patient may experience some soreness, bruising and fullness of the face. Most patients can manage post-op pain and discomfort well with the medications prescribed.
What causes facial volume loss?
As we age, fat mass in the face naturally depletes. This causes the cheekbones and midface to lose their volume, and together with collagen loss, parentheses lines will start to appear. These are lines, also known as nasolabial folds, in the shape of parentheses that form from the nose to the mouth. Fat loss in the face causes the skin to appear thinner, drier and dull.
I'm not ready for facial fat grafting. Any other options to revolumise my facial features?
There are skincare products that can help reduce the appearance of unsightly lines, but they will not eliminate them.
A more effective treatment method is hyaluronic acid fillers. Fillers can correct age-related facial volume loss by plumping up the nasolabial folds for a smoother skin appearance.
Is ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) a new concept?
No, it is not. In the 1980s, facial fat grafting was a popular procedure. The procedure has continued to evolve over the years. It is currently one of the most sought-after natural and clinically proven ways to add volume to the face.
How many sessions of fat grafting are required?
The process allows you to transfer excess body fat to your face, all in one session.
How often can ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) be done?
There is no limit to the number of times the procedure can be performed as long as there is sufficient quality fat to be extracted from the patient.
Does ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) leave scars?
Small, short and strategically placed incisions are made on the donor sites.
Is it painful to have fat grafting?
The fat grafting procedure will be performed under local anaesthesia, and the patient will be under twilight sedation, making the process comfortable for them.
Does fat grafting leave loose skin?
The fat grafting procedure does not cause loose skin. In fact, it provides subtle skin lifting and improves skin texture.
What happens if a person loses weight after ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting)?
Weight loss will impact the results of ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting). A patient is advised to adopt a healthier lifestyle and eating habits after the procedure for longer-lasting results.
What is the minimum weight for fat grafting?
While there is no minimum weight requirement, the patient should have sufficient excess fat to be used in the fat grafting procedure.
Is ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting) safe?
As the treatment utilises your body fat, it is safe with no risk of rejection and long scarring often associated with cheek implants.
What are the risks and safety profile of ADR-C Facial Enhancement (Facial Fat Grafting)?
Complications are rare, but, like all types of surgery, certain risks may occur, including bleeding, infection, scarring, irregularities, and injecting too much or too little fat or risks of calcification. The American Society of Plastic Surgery has determined that fat grafting to the face is safe.
