Facial Liposuction

FACIAL LIPOSUCTION IN SINGAPORE

Facial liposuction offers a lasting and reliable solution to eliminate excess fat from specific facial regions, including the chin, cheeks, neck, and jowls (jawline). It is performed under local anaesthesia, in our accredited Day Surgery Center with the patient under twilight sedation (not GA) and taken care of by our panel of anaesthetists throughout the process.

Dr Ivan Puah will carry out Facial Liposuction using his proprietary surgical technique, the MDC-Sculpt®️ Lipo technique.

Dr Ivan Puah’s MDC-Sculpt®️ Lipo technique

Dr Ivan Puah’s proprietary surgical approach is a multi-plane fat removal method and it effectively addresses:

  • Deep, superficial, and intermediate fat layers
  • Individual anatomical variations
  • Skin elasticity concerns
  • Natural aesthetic proportions

Dr Puah regards liposuction as a fusion of 70% art and 30% science. This deep understanding and decades of experience have led him to develop his proprietary MDC-Sculpt®️ Lipo technique.

KEY CLINICAL ADVANTAGES

Targeted Fat Removal & Skin Tightening

  • Avoids “over-treated” appearance
  • Simultaneous fat extraction and collagen stimulation for firmer skin

Minimally Invasive Protocol

  • 1 - 1.5 hr procedure time
  • Return to normal activities within 48 hours

Natural Facial Contouring Outcomes

  • Strategic micro-incisions (<4mm)
  • Customised to gender-specific contours
  • Permanent fat tissue removal

WHICH AREAS ARE SUITABLE FOR FACIAL LIPOSUCTION?

Superficial fat of the face vector

Double Chin

A double chin, also known as submental fat, is caused by a combination of genetics, ageing, and excess fat accumulation beneath the chin.

It can occur even in individuals who are not overweight.

Factors like a weak chin structure and skin laxity, can also contribute to the appearance of fullness in the area.

The cheeks

Chubby cheeks or fat cheeks can be due to genetics.

They’re also influenced by facial fat distribution, muscle structure, and overall body fat percentage.

The jowls

Jowls, the sagging skin along the jawline, are often linked to ageing, but they can appear earlier in some individuals.

More than just skin losing collagen, jowls form due to deep structural changes like facial bone loss.

As bone volume decreases with age, skin and fat lose support and begin to droop, creating a sagging jawline.

BUCCAL FAT REMOVAL VS FACIAL LIPOSUCTION

TreatmentsBUCCAL FAT REMOVALFACIAL LIPOSUCTION
Type of fat removalInvolves the removal of deep fat from the buccal pad with an incision inside the mouth to slim the cheeks.Involves the removal of superficial facial fat from areas such as jowls, cheeks, chin, and neck.
Treated areaThe buccal fat pad is a mass of fat located in the middle of the cheek, between the facial muscles. It plays an important role in muscle support and essential facial volume. Not only does it help to reduce excess fat from these areas, but it also allows a skilled doctor to sculpt and re-create a more defined jawline and chin.
BenefitsFacial fat volume and distribution are essential in sustaining facial contours and youthfulness. Losing and removing too much facial fat or losing fat in the wrong areas would make one look less youthful and rejuvenated.Facial Liposuction, if done in a specific way, helps to lift and tighten facial skin.
SuitabilityOne of the main complications of buccal fat removal is that when too much fat pad is removed, it leads to the hollowing of facial tissues. Facial Liposuction is a more suitable sculpting procedure as it can effectively remove excess facial fat pockets while lifting the lower face, resulting in a well-defined and slimmer jawline.

POTENTIAL RISKS OF FACIAL LIPOSUCTION

FINDING THE RIGHT LIPO DOCTOR IN SINGAPORE

Choosing the right doctor with a keen aesthetic sense is crucial for achieving your desired silhouette and real results.

Think of a body sculpting procedure as a work of art in the making.

The artist's expertise, experience, and deep grasp of the aesthetics of the human body are what distinguish a masterpiece from an ordinary work.

Dos

  • Ensure that the doctor is accredited by the Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore to perform the procedure.

  • Seek lipo doctors performing a minimum of 100+ annually. High-volume practitioners will refine their techniques for optimal contouring accuracy and complication management.

  • Request comprehensive before and after case studies. Visual evidence demonstrates technical skill.

  • Discuss realistic outcomes, surgical risks and long-term maintenance. Transparent dialogue prevents post-procedure dissatisfaction and aligns expectations.

Don’ts

  • Compromise safety for cost. Avoid “bargain” packages lacking accredited facilities, trained anaesthetists or post-operative care.

  • Don’t overlook procedure-specific expertise. Don’t assume all lipo doctors possess equal skills in ultrasonic liposuction.

  • Don't withhold information during consultations. Undisclosed factors may cause anaesthesia reactions, poor wound healing or suboptimal outcomes.

FAQ

Does Amaris B. provide aftercare treatments?

At Amaris B. Clinic, aftercare significantly assists you with faster recovery and ensures optimum results.

We have curated a bespoke aftercare program designed to help you with the healing process, such as MLD Therapy, skin firming, and many others.

Does the fat come back after facial liposuction?

Fat, once eliminated, will not regrow. However, it is still essential that you maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to reduce any possibility of acquiring excess fat.

I have bulky jaw muscles; can facial liposuction reduce that?

Bulky jaw muscles are due to the overdevelopment of the chewing muscles, which makes your face look wider than you like. Facial Liposuction is meant to remove excess facial fat, it does not treat the issue of bulky jaw muscles.

For this concern, we will recommend treating it with injectable neurotoxins to give you a slimmer and softer facial contour.

Sometimes, we combine Facial Liposuction and BonTA injection for patients who want to achieve a shapelier and more defined facial profile.

Who are the suitable candidates for facial liposuction?

You are a good candidate for double chin liposuction or facial liposuction if you:

  • Have bulky fat on your neck, and jawline (Double chin liposuction)
  • Have excess fat on the cheeks, under the chin, neck and jawline (Facial liposuction)
  • Are in good health; within a healthy BMI
  • Have good muscle tone and firm elastic skin
  • Have no underlying medical conditions
  • Are not pregnant or breastfeeding currently
  • You have realistic expectations on what can or cannot be achieved with facial liposuction

Double chin liposuction or facial liposuction is a potential solution for those seeking to look better, but the individual needs to know that it is a commitment.

Adopting a healthier lifestyle, which incorporates being mindful of what they eat, goes a long way to ensuring long-lasting results.
