Your skin has been through a lot this year. It has braved very hot days, and very cold ones (by Singapore standards), as well as the haze. If your year-end plan is to look fresh – and basically, hide a year’s worth of fatigue – then it’s time to bring out the big (beauty) guns.
With about two months to the year-end gatherings and parties, now is the time to get started on your aesthetics procedures – as well as improve your lifestyle. While aesthetics treatments can help you look better, making a commitment to living more healthily will take you beyond December, and into the glorious new year.
Ahead, these treatments by Amaris B. Clinic to get you started.
To combat pigmentation and restore skin radiance: Pico Fractional Laser
Also suitable for those with darker complexions, the laser treatment works to bring radiance back to dull skin. It’s suitable for treating acne scars, rosacea, pigmentation, dark spots and melasma, and you can expect minimal downtime and discomfort.
Cool fact: Amaris B. Clinic’s founder Dr Ivan Puah is also the Appointed Trainer on Picocare Laser, so you know you’re in experienced hands.
To regain fullness to the face: Facial Fat Grafting
For those who are concerned about loss of facial volume, this treatment can help you regain suppleness and a more youthful appearance.
Small amounts of fat are removed from your thigh or abdomen, purified and then re-injected into areas of your face, such as around the eyes, cheeks and jawline, using a microdroplet technique.
To lift and achieve a more defined facial contour: PDO Lift
This minimally-invasive, non-surgical skinlift uses cog threads to lift skin, leaving you looking fresher, and the skin more rested and firm. Dr Puah says that with PDO Lift, you can achieve a more youthful look without scarring and the need for general anaesthesia. It also activates and promotes collagen production in the skin. Results of the treatment last one to several years.
To reduce a double chin: Laserlipolysis (Laser Liposuction)
Submental fat, commonly known as “double chin”, can develop due to weight gain or ageing. This minimally-invasive fat-reduction procedure can help reduce a double chin and further tighten the skin.
“During the procedure, the area to be treated is numbed with a small volume of anaesthetic fluid,” says Dr Puah. “A fibre optic laser is then inserted under the skin to heat and melt the fat cells while tightening the surrounding skin. The liquefied fatty fluid is then removed through suction.” You’ll notice the results almost immediately and should see the full benefits of the treatment after six months.
To remove stubborn fat and define body contours: Vaser Liposuction
A power-assisted liposuction technique, Vaser liposuction uses ultrasonic sound wave energy to selectively break up fat deposits, which are then removed permanently. Dr Puah adds that one of several advantages of this procedure is that it stimulates the production of collagen, which helps in skin tightening. “You can achieve a smooth body contour and firmer skin with Vaser liposuction,” he says.
