Sports Aesthetics®

SPORTS AESTHETICS® IN SINGAPORE

For people who train regularly, the relationship between fitness and appearance is not always straightforward. Regular exercise improves health and performance, but it may not produce the physical results one might expect.

Prolonged sun exposure leads to pigmentation and skin damage. Intense cardio can deplete facial and breast fat, making the face look drawn or aged and the breasts appear smaller, yet stubborn fat pockets persist in areas where diet and training have little effect.

Sports Aesthetics® is a term and approach developed by Dr Ivan Puah to address this gap. It aims to help active individuals achieve a physique that reflects both their health and the effort they invest in maintaining it.

Offering customised aesthetic and surgical treatments, it aims to help fitness enthusiasts, sportspeople, and athletes achieve a physique that reflects both their health and the effort they invest in maintaining it.

FAQ

Are There Any Non-Surgical Treatments To Address The Effects Of Consistent Heavy Workouts?

There are non-invasive treatments that can address certain concerns. Ultherapy Prime, a non-surgical skin lift that promotes collagen regrowth from within, can restore facial volume loss, and Exosome Therapy with RF Microneedling can improve skin texture, reduce pigmentation, and diminish acne scars.

How Long Does It Take to See Weight Loss Results?

Studies show that exercise alone results in up to 3% weight loss, while combining diet and exercise can yield 5% to 15%. Initial improvements may occur within weeks, especially for larger individuals, though visible changes can take time.

Are Weight Loss and Fat Loss the Same?

Losing weight doesn't always mean changes in body shape. Many experience stubborn fat retention after significant weight loss, which body contouring procedures, such as liposuction, can help address.

Why Aren't My Abs Showing Up Despite Frequent Crunches and a Lean Protein Diet?

If abs aren't visible, it could be due to nutrition, recovery, training intensity, or body composition. Progressive overload and varied workouts can stimulate muscle growth.

Can't Push-Up Exercises or Weightlifting Get Rid of Armpit Fat?

Push-ups strengthen muscles, but don't specifically target fat reduction. Targeting specific muscles doesn’t lead to fat loss in that area. Overall body exercise yields better results.

Why Won't Exercise Get Rid of Gynecomastia?

Exercise typically cannot resolve true gynecomastia, a condition caused by an excess of firm glandular breast tissue rather than fat. While Won'tise can burn fat, it cannot break down or eliminate dense glandular tissue, which is often influenced by hormonal imbalances.

Why Can't I Seem to Achieve a Thigh Gap, Even Though I Run Often and Do Thigh Exercises?

Many people believe that a thigh gap results from bone structure, specifically wider hip bones. According to Dr Ivan Puah and scientific research, thigh gaps are mainly due to fat distribution and muscle mass, not bone structure. Stubborn fat is a common issue, particularly in the inner thighs, where it tends to accumulate.

I Started Running Not Long Ago, and I Noticed I May Look Older. Why Is That?

Overexercising can lead to what is sometimes referred to as "gym face", characterised by sunken cheeks, premature ageing, and wrinkles, due to fat loss. The body may suffer from chronic fatigue, muscle damage, weakened immunity, and hormonal imbalances.
