Vaser Liposuction (UAL)

VASER LIPOSUCTION (UAL) IN SINGAPORE

Not all liposuction works the same way. Traditional liposuction removes fat mechanically, with the cannula physically breaking apart tissue as it moves.

Vaser Liposuction, or Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL), takes a different approach by delivering ultrasound energy into the treatment area first, emulsifying fat cells before they are suctioned out.

This sequence matters because when the fat is liquefied, the surrounding tissue is left undisturbed. This means less post-operative discomfort, minimal bruising and a faster return to daily activities.

Vaser lipo also stimulates collagen production during the procedure, which encourages skin tightening in the treated area. The technique is well-suited to body contouring across multiple areas, from the abdomen and flanks to the arms, thighs, and back.

At Amaris B. Clinic, Vaser Liposuction is performed by Dr Ivan Puah under twilight sedation as a day-surgery procedure.

Book your consultation today.

WHAT IS VASER LIPOSUCTION (UAL)?

Vaser Liposuction (Ultrasonic Assisted Lipo) uses targeted sound energy to gently liquefy fat deposits before removal. The Vaser[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]  technique preserves surrounding blood vessels and connective tissue – resulting in smoother, more natural body contours than traditional liposuction.

Key Benefits of Vaser Liposuction:

  • Minimised Trauma: Ultrasonic energy selectively breaks down fat cells while protecting vital tissues
  • Enhanced Precision: Allows delicate sculpting of areas like abdomen, thighs, and flanks
  • Reduced Downtime: Less bruising and faster recovery compared to conventional method

Refined by Dr Ivan Puah, our Vaser Lipo technique delivers transformative yet natural-looking results.

HOW DOES VASER LIPOSUCTION WORK?

Vaser Liposuction is a form of ultrasonic-assisted liposuction performed under local anaesthesia. This fat removal procedure utilises ultrasound energy to gently break down unwanted fat tissues.

How Does Vaser Liposuction Work _ Infiltration

1. Infiltration

Tumescent fluid, a special mixture of lidocaine and saline used in liposuction to increase comfort and aid in faster recovery, is infiltrated to numb the targeted area and shrink the blood vessels.

How Does Vaser Liposuction Work _ Ultrasound Delivery

2. Ultrasound Delivery

A probe which emits high ultrasonic frequency is inserted to expand and contract the air bubbles within the tumescent fluid.

The probe oscillates at 36,000 times ultrasonic soundwaves per second, separating fat tissues from other connective tissues.

Even though the probe moves at a fast speed, it does not disturb the veins, arteries, and other connective tissues.

vaser-liposuciton-singapore-Aspiration-(Fat-Removal)

3. Aspiration (Fat Removal)

Once the fat is emulsified, Dr Ivan Puah will carefully suction the liquified fat and carry out body contouring.

Unlike traditional liposuction, which is more intrusive, Vaser Liposuction is gentle on the body.

It breaks down fat cells while leaving other important connective tissues relatively undisturbed; hence the incidence of tissue injuries is significantly reduced.

Vaser Liposuction can safely and reliably remove fat, contour the targeted area, and promote skin tightening.

THE CRUCIAL FIRST 72-HOUR CARE: WHAT TO DO?

Results are visible immediately, and it will continue to show further improvement.

Postoperative care is a collaborative effort. It is essential to adhere to your doctor's post-operative instructions for the best results.

Here is what you can expect in the days, weeks, and months following liposuction surgery.

🚿 Shower

Be gentle when you shower and use hypoallergenic products.

🎽 Compression

Wear surgical compression garments 24/7 for the next few weeks.

🛌 Rest

Avoid putting pressure on the treated area.

Get plenty of rest so your body can recover.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST-OP WEEKS AFTER VASER LIPO?

1 - 2 weeks

Soreness can last for one to two weeks.

The treated area may be bruised and tender but the discomfort and pain are manageable.

Stitch removal in 10 days by the doctor.

Incisions may itch as they heal so be mindful.

1 month

Go for regular Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage.

Most bruising and swelling will be resolved.

Expect temporary scar discolouration but will fade over time.

3 months

Results will continue to improve over 3 to 6 months.

Patients with mild to moderate skin laxity will notice an improvement in skin tightening in the treated area.

6 months

Maintain a disciplined lifestyle and following a balanced diet and frequent exercise routine.

Complement your results with other aesthetics treatments after 6 months.

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR RESULTS LONG-TERM?

While Vaser liposuction permanently removes fat cells from treated areas, new fat can still develop in untreated areas if calorie intake consistently exceeds expenditure.

To preserve your sculpted contours, we recommend a balanced diet and stable weight (fluctuations beyond 4kg may alter results).

Though ageing naturally affects skin elasticity and overall body composition, consistent exercise (150+ minutes weekly of cardio/strength training) optimises longevity.

HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT VASER LIPO DOCTOR IN SINGAPORE?

Liposuction cannister fat

Choosing the right doctor with a keen aesthetic sense is crucial for achieving your desired silhouette and real results.

Think of a body sculpting procedure as a work of art in the making. The artist's expertise, experience, and deep grasp of the aesthetics of the human body are what distinguish a masterpiece from an ordinary work.

Dos

  • Ensure that the doctor is accredited by the Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore to perform the procedure.

  • Seek lipo doctors performing a minimum of 100+ annually. High-volume practitioners will refine their techniques for optimal contouring accuracy and complication management.

  • Request comprehensive before and after case studies. Visual evidence demonstrates technical skill.

  • Do understand the benefits as well as potential side effects of the procedure. Clear your misconceptions and ask the doctor any questions you find relevant and necessary.

  • Discuss realistic outcomes, surgical risks and long-term maintenance. Transparent dialogue prevents post-procedure dissatisfaction and aligns expectations.

Don'ts

  • Compromise safety for cost. Avoid “bargain” packages lacking accredited facilities, trained anaesthetists or post-operative care.

  • Don’t overlook procedure-specific expertise. Don’t assume all lipo doctors possess equal skills in ultrasonic liposuction.

  • Don't withhold information during consultations. Undisclosed factors may cause anaesthesia reactions, poor wound healing or suboptimal outcomes.

  • Pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding.
  • Individuals with pre-existing medical conditions will be assessed to ascertain their suitability for the procedure.
  • Psychologically unstable individuals will not be suitable for the procedure.

We prioritise your safety while achieving optimal results.

Does Amaris B. provide aftercare treatments?

At Amaris B. Clinic, aftercare significantly assists you with faster recovery and ensures optimum results.

We have curated a bespoke aftercare program designed to help you with the healing process, such as MLD Therapy, skin firming and many others.

What not to do after Vaser liposuction?

Avoid alcohol, smoking, strenuous activities, including heavy household chores, water activities and, soaking in the bathtub.  Follow the aftercare guide instructions. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the medical team for further advice.

What body part is most painful to Vaser liposuction?

Patients have shared that the inner thighs and abdomen are more sensitive than other areas. However, do note that discomfort and soreness are subjective experiences. You will also be given painkillers to manage any pain you may feel.

Why do I look bigger 3 weeks after Vaser liposuction?

The swelling you notice is fluid buildup post-liposuction. This is a common occurrence, and the swelling will subside on its own. This is why we highly recommend you get regular Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage to help with swelling. MLD therapy improves circulation and removes toxins, including fluid buildup, from your body.

How long should I take off work after Vaser liposuction?

If your work is desk-bound, you may return to work within 1-2  days post-op. If your job involves heavy lifting or frequent travelling, we recommend that you rest for at least 7 days before you go back to work.

What is the downside of Vaser liposuction?

You may experience temporary bruising, tenderness, soreness, and tingling sensations. All of these will subside in a few weeks, so be patient and diligent with your aftercare routine for an uneventful recovery.

When is lipo swelling the worst?

The swelling after liposuction peaks during the first three days and will subside in a few weeks.

Which hurts worse: VASER lipo or a tummy tuck?

Research indicates that patients who underwent a tummy tuck are experiencing more pain and discomfort than a liposuction procedure.
