Stretch Marks Treatment

Stretch marks (also known as striae), are a form of scarring that develop on the skin differing in hue from the surrounding skin. They occur when skin cannot bounce back after a period of intense growth caused by pregnancy, weight gain, extreme weight loss, adolescent growth spurts and even body building. They are usually reddish or purplish at the beginning and fading to white lines over time.

Stretch marks can happen to anyone although more women are affected compared to men. Those with lighter skin color run a higher risk of getting visible marks.
