Mother’s Day is the celebration of Motherhood, to honour and remember the sacrifices, contributions and tireless effort of a mother. After all, being a mother is a colossal and most times, thankless task.

As a mother, you can’t help sometimes but think back to the days when you were a child yourself - the days when life seemed a little more care and worry free. But those daydreams are often brought back down to reality when you realise how fast time has flown and consequently, its harsh effects on your face and body.

Here’s what you can do.

Neurotoxin injections to iron those lines

If you’re wearing glasses, take note. Not wearing the right prescriptions can cause wrinkles, which is the result of having to squint and strain all the time. Goes the same for not wearing sunglasses when you’re outdoors. The constant squinting and frowning cause the creases around your eyes to become more profound and possibly, ending up as permanent fixtures as well.

Getting the correct prescriptions for your glasses and wearing sunglasses, including sunscreen when you’re out, are good preventive measures, but if wrinkles and fine lines are what you already have, there is still something that can be done.

Wrinkles and frown lines are common as we age. For many women, neurotoxin injection is the treatment of choice when it comes to treating such conditions. It works by relaxing the muscles, and this causes the lines to go away. Being a non-surgical cosmetic treatment is also perhaps the additional reason why it’s much preferred.

Pico Laser to reverse ageing signs on the skin

Other common age-related issues are age spots or melasma. These discoloured patches on the skin can also be caused by pregnancy and hormone therapy, among other things. While they may be topical creams that may claim to help address the issue, one treatment that has been proven to help is Amaris B. PICO Laser treatment.

Amaris B. Pico Fractional Laser is a picosecond laser, which means they have a shorter pulse duration than traditional lasers. This capability allows them to deliver more laser shots than conventional lasers within the same time frame and also helps to break down skin pigmentations into even smaller bits resulting in a lesser number of treatments needed. Additionally, it is non-ablative and does not damage the surrounding tissues.

PICO Fractional Laser is ideal for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation removal and a host of other skin needs.

Vaser liposuction to get rid of love handles and bingo wings

Love handles, and bingo wings are unwelcomed. What makes them even more distressing is the fact they generally fall into the category of stubborn fat. Many women frown at the thought of addressing them with the traditional liposuction method, but that’s where Vaser Lipo comes in.

Vaser liposuction is a less invasive form of liposuction. It can work on multiple areas of the body and also, on areas where smaller fat pockets are found. It uses ultrasound wave energy to liquefy fat in targeted areas after which, the fat is sucked out via a small cannula. The ultrasound wave energy employed stimulates the production of collagen resulting in tighter and smoother skin.

An important thing to note is that Vaser Lipo is an advanced body sculpting procedure and not a weight loss method.

Ultherapy for that taut complexion you once had

Ultherapy is an FDA-approved non-invasive skin lifting and tightening procedure. The procedure uses focused ultrasound energy to penetrate under the skin, repairing damage by delivering the right amount of power at the right depth and temperature.

It does so without causing damage to the skin surface. There is no downtime needed, which makes it a very suitable treatment for busy mothers. Ultherapy effectively addresses issues such as sagging skin, jowls, drooping eyelids and “turkey neck” appearances.

Although you may not be able to turn back time, plenty can be done to help reduce the ravaging effects of time and bring back that happy smile on your face, and shape to your body. You’re a woman and a mother, and deserve to look and feel like the splendid beings that you are – Happy Mother’s Day!
