Ms C is a 29-year-old married woman working in the public sector. Despite her petite frame, Ms C has been grappling with a frustrating concern – flabby arms and armpit fat.
Ms C had been working out consistently, hoping to eliminate the excess fat around her arms and armpit. However, her efforts had not yielded the results she desired. Distressed by this, she shared, "No matter how much I exercise, my arms and armpit fat just won't budge. It bothers me so much, especially when I want to wear sleeveless or tube tops. I feel like the fat and skin are constantly pushed out."
During the consultation with Dr Puah, Ms C shared that her diet was relatively clean, and she is a non-smoker. She had tried a few sessions of fat freezing, a non-invasive fat reduction treatment, but there were no significant changes. She wanted to seek a permanent solution to address these concerns.
Dr Puah conducted a thorough physical assessment, noting pinchable fat, and also assessed for signs of skin laxity. Ms C's skin is taut for her age. There were no other underlying medical conditions, and her BMI qualifies her to go through liposuction. Risks, complications and expected results were thoroughly explained to Ms C. Ms C decided to proceed with the surgery after discussing it with her husband.
Ms C underwent Modern Liposuction with MDC-Sculpt®️ Lipo Technique by Dr Ivan Puah. The surgery was carried out successfully. 800 ml of supranated fat was removed, and skin tightening was done for both upper arms and armpits.
Bruises were minimal, and the pain was managed by prescribed pain relief medication. Stitches were removed 10 days after the surgery. Ms C was concerned about the "tightness" whenever she tried to raise her hands and the swelling she felt but was reassured by Dr Puah that these are part of the healing process. She was advised to wear the arm compression sleeve 24/7 for 8 weeks to help compress tissue swelling and aid recovery.
Ms C diligently followed the post-recovery care advice and was healing well. On her last review with Dr Puah four months later, her "before" and "after" photos showed marked improvements. Ms C is happy with the results.
